WIND POWERED CAR

This project is developed for the users to use a vehicle using wind energy. A wind mill generates electric power from wind energy. The electric power is stored in a battery. The car gets energy from the battery.

PARTS DESCRIPTION

• Wind mill
• Battery
• Robotic car
• Rotating blades
• Gear and wheel setup
• Coil and permanent magnet

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The vanes in the turbine are rotated with constant speed. The gear setup can be adjusted to control the rotation speed. A magnet is connected with the gear. The magnet will be rotated along with the vanes.
The coil is fixed around the magnet. According to Faraday's law, "As long as there is a change in magnetic flux linked with the coil, an emf is induced." So, In each and every rotation, electricity is generated. The energy from the windmill is stored in a battery. The car gets energy from the battery.

ADVANTAGES

• This project is cost effective and portable.
• Since this uses no fuel, it is very economic.

VAPOR ABSORPTION COOLING SYSTEM

A vapor absorption chiller machine (VAM) is a machine that produces chilled water using a heat source rather than electrical input as in the more familiar vapor compression cycle. It seems unreasonable that cooling can be achieved with heat, but that is what occurs within an absorption chiller. Both vapor compression and absorption refrigeration cycles accomplish the removal of heat through the evaporation of a refrigerant at a low pressure and the rejection of heat through the condensation of the refrigerant at a higher pressure.

The basic difference is that an electric chiller employs a mechanical compressor to create the pressure differences necessary to circulate the refrigerant whereas the absorption chillers use heat source and do not use a mechanical compressor.
The differences cause an absorption system to use little to no work input, but energy must be supplied in the form of heat. This makes the system very attractive when there is a cheap source of heat, such as solar heat or waste heat from electricity or heat generation.
Absorption chillers have recently gained widespread acceptance due to their capability of not only integrating with cogeneration systems but also because they can operate with industrial waste heat streams.
What is Absorption?
Comparing the absorption refrigeration cycle with the more familiar vapor compression refrigeration cycle is often an easy way to introduce it. The standard vapor compression refrigeration system is a condenser, evaporator, throttling valve, and a compressor. Figure below is a schematic of the components and flow arrangements for the vapor compression cycle.

HUMAN POWERED HELICOPTER

The various aspects of helicopter design and human-powered aircraft design were studied to present a program to build a human-powered helicopter (HPH) at the Naval Postgraduate School. The HPH will be designed to meet the requirements for the AHSSikorsky Award. The helicopter design is refined, and the feasibility of construction is assessed. In addition to pursuing a significant historical achievement, the program seeks to enchance the helicopter and composite programs of the Aeronautical Engineering curriculum at the NPS. The benefits to NPS in terms of research topics and a research aircraft are presented. Potential future uses for ultra-low-powered aircraft technology are also outlined.

A STUDY ON THE CO-PRODUCTION OF WIND AND WAVE ENERGY

The world is giving more and more importance on renewable energy like wind, sun light etc. but this is increasing the stress on power producers to flatten the peak loads since most of the renewable energy sources rarely produce consistent power output. Making consistent production of power from a renewable energy source is one of the greatest things that can be achieved in this field.
Floating-Power-Plant
We are familiar with the generation of electricity from wind power. We also know about wave energy. What if we combine both and harvest the energy from both wind and waves? A study on this topic was done. As we know wind energy is obtained from wind and energy generation is possible with big wind mills if the flow of wind is consistent. the waves we see in ocean are also created by the same wind. So to know the benefits of a combined power production system we need to  analyse both sources of energy. In this project we examine the base load properties of wave power and wind power. The data for wave energy project was taken from ‘Islandsberg’ in Sweden and that for wind energy was taken from Jutland, Denmark.
What we learned from this project is that the waves generate more consistent power than wind. Further studies also show that even when the wind gets slow down the waves it created still continue. This shows a better consistency for the power produced by a combination of wind and wave energy.

SIDE STAND RETRIEVING SYSTEM FOR TWO WHEELERS

In modern developing world, automobile plays important role especially two wheeler i.e (motorcycles& bikes) plays a major role. Even though they are helpful there are some sad events like accidents due to careless of rider. Major accidents occur due to forgetting of lifting side stand. To rectify this problem many advance measure have taken, but they are useless. so, by considering that it should be implemented practically in all types bikes .The new system “AUTOMATIC SIDE-STAND RETRIEVE SYSTEM” is to be designed based on the working principle of bikes. Since all bikes transmit power from engine to rear wheel by means of chain drive. Since the design setup is to be kept in between chain drive, then setup (Sprocket) rotates and side stand get retrieves automatically.
